Activity · Guided tour of the Hippodrome

On the occasion of the Plant Festival « The Gardens of the HippoDrohme », we will set off on a walk to discover the main forest habitats of the Soignes Forest and their importance for Natura 2000.

With Frederik Vaes, head of the Forests department at Brussels Environment, we will learn to recognise the key plants and species of habitats 9120, 9130 and 9160, to identify them in the field and to understand what a ‘favourable conservation status’ means.

As we walk, we will also discuss some exotic plants that can be found in the Soignes Forest.
